Explore the spectacular nature nearby Húsavík

This tour allows visitors to explore the town gardens, Skrúðgarður, and to hike along a beautiful route until lake Botnvatn, placed beneath the slopes of Húsavíkurfjall in a serene and peaceful location.

Duration: 3,5 hours (+1 hr to hike all around the lake)

Earn the most magnificent view on Skjálfandi Bay

Green and gentle Húsavíkurfjall is a unique landmark located just behind town. On the top you are rewarded with an astonishing view over Húsavík, its sparkling bay and the elegant mountains across.

Duration: 4 hours

Please note: distance walked during the tour is approx. 8km, elevation gain is 417 mt. Very good physical condition is required.


SIGHTSEEING around Húsavík – Luxury tour

Reach some of the most scenic spots in comfort 

This guided tour starts by driving to the top of Húsavíkurfjall, from where to enjoy magnificent views, and ends after exploring Bakkahöfði, a scenic cape located north of town where a unique elephant-shaped rock stands over the waters of Skjálfandi Bay.

Duration: 2 hours

BIRDWATCHING in Húsavík and its surroundings

Discover the bird life in the area of Húsavík

On this tour the focus is spectacular wildlife and nature, with a variety of scenery and landscape, not to mention birds that can be therefore found on lakes, rivers, marshes, maritime areas and cliffs.

Please note: areas covered, by minivan, on this guided tour are Laxá river, Kaldbakstjarnir, Tjörnes peninsula and Skjálfandi bay.


GEOLOGY tour in the Northeast 

Seek out fossils and explore majestic Ásbyrgi

Tjörnes peninsula, just north of Húsavík, is an open air treasure chest containing 2 millions year old fossils, while further Ásbyrgi canyon, a gigantic horseshoe-shaped rock formation, is testimony of a catastrophic glacial flooding.

SIGHTSEEING day along Jökulsárgljúfur  

Let your breath be taken away by the power of nature

Majestic Ásbyrgi serves as a gate for Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, which contains some of the most impressive nature wonders in the country: 3 powerful and elegant waterfalls – including Dettifoss – and the enigmatic rocks in Hljóðaklettar.

Duration: 8 hours (or 6hr upon request)

Get enchanted by an unreal world of steam and water

Lake Mývatn and its surroundings feature some of the most spectacular and diverse environments of the country, from martian Hverir to bizarre Dimmuborgir, from unique Skútustaðir to tranquil Höfði. And last but not least, ethereal nature baths.
